Suzhou Innovation Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of our young people. We expect all SIA community members including administrators, faculty, staff, Board members, and volunteers to share this commitment. We believe that all children, young people and vulnerable adults, regardless of characteristics and beliefs, have an equal right to protection from all types of harm or abuse.
Child Protection Policy
There are two key aspects to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students:
Take all reasonable measures to ensure that risk of harm to students’ welfare is minimized;
Take all appropriate actions to address concerns about the welfare of students, working to agreed local policies and procedures in full partnership with other local laws.
The SIA Student Safeguarding Policy and Procedure clearly outlines the arrangements SIA has in place to provide for both aspects of safeguarding. The measures described in this policy should be applied in all settings, including professional and personal interactions with students and primary caregivers and are relevant to all adults who are in contact with students directly or indirectly and who undertake paid or regular volunteer work for SIA, or deliver services as part of a contractual agreement with an external organization.
